Stephen L. Ball, P.E.
Mr. Ball is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Virginia and Florida. He has over 30 years of experience in the Civil and Environmental engineering field. He has a Master of Engineering degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Mary Washington College.
Mr. Ball has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. This experience provides a valuable perspective. In his engineering and management experience in the public sector his positions allowed him to work closely with Utility operations and maintenance staff at all levels throughout the water and wastewater systems. This not only provides an understanding of how municipal utilities operate and what their needs are, it also instilled the importance and value of obtaining and incorporating input from utility personnel into engineering design in order to produce an end product that not only meets an engineering need but is also the best available option from an operational standpoint.
Mr. Ball has worked as a project manager and project engineer for Webb & Associates since 2003. During his tenure with Webb & Associates, Mr. Ball has designed and managed numerous residential subdivision and commercial site plan projects which include all aspects of site plan design, site layout, parking, pavement design, water supply, storage and distribution, water collection and pumping systems, wastewater collection and pumping systems, and stormsewer and stormwater management systems.
Prior to his employment with Webb & Associates Mr. Ball worked for various municipalities including the City of Gainesville, Florida where he served as Director of Engineering. In this capacity Mr. Ball oversaw the design and operation of the water and wastewater systems serving over 60,000 customers. Mr. Ball also served as the Town Engineer for the Town of Orange, Virginia and as a project engineer for the Rapidan Service Authority, which provides water and wastewater service to the Virginia counties of Green County, Orange County and Madision County.
